My good friend Jason Snow at The Patriot Ledger, wrote this wonderful article about Milton Crew and their unique student athletes. These kids have no boat house, antiquated equipment and ZERO support from the athletic department at the high school. Yet.... every senior on the squad is going to row in college!! Amazing story of perseverance, discipline and courage. Men and Women.
As an upshot, when this article appeared, a local businessman immediately offered to fund two future students that want to row at the high school level.
Thank you!! I hope other super successful business and community leaders take the same initiative. Why not fund a Boathouse and get it named after you? Whether its Milton, Quincy or any other place where kids dedicate themselves to a sport with little fanfare but tremendous results.
